Wrapped head to foot in pale felt with two eyes peering out of the gap, he looks less like a threat and more like someone who got dressed in a hurry and made the best of it. The wrapping is hand-laid, so no two of him are bound quite the same way. This is the ornament for the door, the window catch, the branch of a small indoor tree dressed for the season. He hangs at five inches, weighs next to nothing, and sways when the air moves which is most of the charm. Felt, worked by hand, with nothing in him to break. He goes back in the box at the end of the season and comes out the next October exactly as wrapped as before. Some people throw their Halloween away each November.
